HD quad-channel recording, 3G ISO Recording, and HD playback features
Instead of recording a single source, HDR-80 can be configured to record up to four HD streams at the same time using the 4x 3G-SDI interface.
This can be used for various applications, including ISO recording.
Controllable by DVIP/GPI/RS-232
The HDR-80 supports DVIP (Ethernet), GPI and RS-232 enabling the recorder to be controlled in a different application. The control set is available in the downloads section. (link to section)

Closed Caption supporting
Closed caption function allowing subtitles to be saved separately as metadata in .mov file format for quick post-editing.
